The Promenade
Penzance promenade is a wide, level walkway that runs alongside Penzance Beach
with spectacular views of the sea, neighbouring coastlines and St Michael's
Mount. Built in 1844, it remains Cornwall's only promenade. It provides the
perfect place for an evening stroll in the refreshing sea air and has lots of
benches from which to enjoy Mount's Bay.
Penzance Beach
Beside the promenade lies Penzance beach with its magnificent backdrop of St
Michael's Mount and surrounding coasts. In addition to swimming, sunbathing
and relaxing the beach has rock pools to explore and there have been numerous
sightings of rare species in the bay.
The Jubilee Pool
The Jubilee Pool is the UK's largest open-air swimming pool and is filled tidally.
It provides a safe, life guard patrolled swimming area and has a large, sheltered
sunbathing area. It is open from the Spring to the early Autumn.
Morrab Gardens and Morrab Library
An enchanting public garden boasting unusual subtropical plants and flowers.
The Morrab Gardens also features a bandstand where concerts are held in the
summer. It houses the Morrab Library, Cornwall's only independent library, featuring
historic books and photographs.
Penzance Town Centre
In addition to a wide variety of interesting shops, restaurants, cafes, public houses
and bakeries, the town features many areas of historic interest including
the domed Market House and a marble statue of Sir Humphry Davy.
Chapel Street
Chapel Street is home to many points of architectural interest including the
Egyptian House and has a long and rich history. It also boasts some fine restaurants,
pubs, shops and cafes.
St Mary's Church
This Neo-Gothic style church was built in 1832 to replace the 15th century St
Mary's Chapel and was refurbished in 1985 due to fire. It features several relics
of the old chapel and holds various concerts throughout the year.
St Anthony Gardens
Built near the site of the ancient Chapel of St Anthony, St Anthony Gardens
has a fountain carved from a single piece of granite and features fabulous views
of the bay.
The Battery Rocks
Featuring a memorial erected in 1922 to commemorate those who died in the First
World War, and a wide sloping walkway down to the rocks, this area has some
fascinating rock pools and great views of the sea.
Penzance Quay and Ferry to the Isles of Scilly
From Penzance Quay visitors can take a ferry to the Isles
of Scilly and boat trips around the bay. The area is steeped in maritime history
and is home to the Penzance Sailing Club and the Penzance Sub-Aqua Club.

Fifteen acres of open parkland with a garden of remembrance, an open-air theatre,
tennis courts, a woodland walk, children's adventure playground, an ancient
stone cross and many subtropical shrubs and flowers
Penlee House Gallery and Museum
Penlee House Gallery and Museum are home to the Town's historic collections
including important "Newlyn School" and "Lamorna Group"
paintings and also has temporary exhibitions. It boasts a collection of several
thousand local photographs, some dating back as early as the 1870s. The museum
has archaeological and local history sections. It also has a shop and cafe which
are open during museum hours.
Wharfside shopping centre
Built in 1999, the Wharfside Shopping Centre features a wide range of shops,
a crèche, restaurants, cafes and a Farmers' Market which is held on Saturdays.
It has great views of the bay and St Michael's Mount.
St John's Hall
Opened in 1868, St John's Hall hosts events and concerts throughout the year
and is home to the Royal Geological Society of Cornwall museum.

Bolitho Gardens
Opened in 1897, Bolitho Gardens lie on the edge of the beach at Wherrytown.
The Gardens stretch to Newlyn Green and incorporate a basketball court, a bowling
green and a large children's play area. Bolitho Gardens are home to subtropical
plants and flowers and have plenty of benches with spectacular views across
the bay.
Penzance Boating Pool
Opened by the Rotary Club in 1955 Penzance Boating Pool was built primarily
for model boat owners but also serves as a delightful quiet retreat and lovely
picnic area.

The Penzance heliport is about a mile from Wymering Guest House. It offers day trips in addition to longer visits. It also holds romantic helicopter tours of the Christmas lights in December.
Newlyn
A scenic fishing village with a host of fine restaurants, shops, cafes and pubs, about a mile from Wymering Guest House or five minutes by car.
Mousehole
A charming village with shops, cafes, fine restaurants and pubs, Mousehole has breathtaking views of Mounts Bay. It hosts the famous Mousehole Lights every Christmas and is about 3 miles from the Guest House.
Marazion
Beautiful sandy beaches and a ferry service or walk to St Michaels Mount. Marazion is 3 miles from the Guest House and about five to ten minutes by car.
The Minack Theatre and Porthcurno Beach
This romantic outdoor theatre hold plays throughout the summer and sits beside the stunning Porthcurno beach. About 20 minutes by car from Wymering.
